Bob Carpenter's Grants
I intentionally lived my life in the Philosophy Department at Carnegie Mellon, spending my life teaching rather than applying for and administering and being controlled by grants. Working for Lucent Technologies in the Bell Labs Research organization, I have the ultimate luxury of deep-pocketed industrial support and research freedom. Not including some small internal Carnegie Mellon University grants, I have only received the following:
- 1994. Integrating Constraint-Based and Type-Logical Grammars. Dutch National Science Foundation. (Joint with Michael Moortgat and Ivan Sag.)
- 1984--1987. National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowship (Computer Science)
- 1984--1987. Overseas Research Studentship, British Research Council
