A Biography of Mitzi Morris

Mitzi grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, where she attended Cleveland Heights High School.

But she spent her junior year abroad in Aix-en-Provence, learning French.

  Then Mitzi moved to Stockholm, which is in Sweden, to work for the telecommunications giant Ericsson.

Banana Slug Mitzi also went to the University of California, Santa Cruz, home of the notorious Banana Slug and great beaches.

  Next, Mitzi moved to Pittsburgh to work as a research programmer for Carnegie Mellon University. It was there that she learned from the writing on the wall that these are a woman's high prerogatives.

In Pittsburgh, Mitzi met her husband, Bob Carpenter.

Later, Mitzi went to work for Nomos, which makes computer-controlled brain surgery devices.

Getting even more risky, Mitzi moved to GALT Technologies, Inc., which made one of the first online investing systems. They were later bought by Intuit, and their product, NetWorth, was rolled into Quicken Online.

  Mitzi then worked at EarthWeb, another multimedia startup.

  After leaving Earthweb, Mitzi went corporate, and took up a position at Viacom, the media conglomerate.

Mitzi next spent some time at the venerable New York Times.

Tiger Blue Logo Now Mitzi runs her own company, Tiger Blue. Tiger Blue's motto is "excellence in software and tableware". She offers "Software Engineering Across the Product Lifecycle" on site for clients and from Tiger Blue's offices.

Tiger Blue Ceramics is being produced in her new studio space, the 65 hope gallery uber-hip galllery district of Williamsburg, Brooklyn (see map location 6).
